Erin Davie and Emily Padgett star in the Henry Krieger-Bill Russell musical at the St. James Theatre.
The new Broadway cast of Side Show recorded the musical's album on December 1. Six-time Grammy Award winner Frank Filipetti produces the CD, which is set to be released via Broadway Records in early 2015.
Side Show features a book and lyrics by Bill Russell, and music by Henry Krieger. Directed by Academy Award winner Bill Condon (Chicago, Dreamgirls), Side Show explores the lives of Daisy and Violet Hilton (Emily Padgett and Erin Davie), a pair of conjoined twins who toured the vaudeville circuit and whose bond was able to bring them fame, but not love. Performances began October 28, and the show officially opened November 17 at the St. James Theatre.
The cast also features Matthew Hydzik as Buddy Foster, Robert Joy as Sir, Ryan Silverman as Terry Connor, and David St. Louis as Jake. The ensemble will include Brandon Bieber, Matthew Patrick Davis, Charity Angel Dawson, Lauren Elder, Javier Ignacio, Jordanna James, Kelvin Moon Loh, Barrett Martin, Don Richard, Blair Ross, Hannah Shankman, Josh Walker, with Con O'Shea-Creal, Derek Hanson, and DeLaney Westfall.
