The biting new comedy begins its run this evening.
Huntington Theatre Company's production of Can You Forgive Her? starts its world-premiere run tonight.
Set on Halloween night, the show follows the ferocious and beautiful Miranda. With mounting debts, she manages to keep afloat only by playing two lovers off each other. However, she might be falling for one of them, and the other has threatened to kill her. Desperate for an escape, she finds shelter and a drink with a charismatic stranger. With everything unraveling, the only question left is, where will the night take her?
Written by two-time Pulitzer Prize finalist Gina Gionfriddo, the show is directed by Huntington artistic director Peter DuBois. The cast features Meredith Forlenza as Miranda, Allyn Burrows as David, Theogan Iyer as Sateesh, Chris Henry Coffey as Graham, and Tanya Fischer as Tanya.
"I think Gina Gionfriddo is one of the most exciting playwrights in America today, and her new comedy is a sensational piece of writing that crackles with ideas," says Huntington artistic director Peter DuBois. "Over the years, Gina has become a favorite with Huntington audiences, and I look forward to collaborating with her once again."
The creative team includes Lauren Helpern (set design), Mary Lauve (costume design), Phillip S. Rosenberg (lighting design), Daniel Kluger (sound design), and Kevin Schlagle (stage manager).
Performances will run through April 24.
