The performance will benefit the 52nd Street Project.
Cast and Loose Live!, a benefit performance raising funds for the 52nd Street Project, will come to Joe's Pub at The Public Theater at 9:30pm on Monday, July 28. The show, based on a Tumblr page created and curated by actress and writer Lynne Marie Rosenberg (High Maintenance), features casting breakdowns that offer "your daily dose of show business misogyny, racism and general absurdity."
Rosenberg will perform alongside Marsha Stephanie Blake (Girls), Amber Gray (Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812), Greg Hildreth (Cinderella), Nick Westrate (Casa Valentina), singer/songwriter team Jerzy Jung and Michael Askin, and more still to be announced. The performers will reenact some of the most hilarious (and stereotypical) casting descriptions featured on the Tumblr page.
Tickets to Cast and Loose cost $25, and proceeds will benefit the 52nd Street Project, a Hell's Kitchen-based nonprofit organization dedicated to the creation and production of new plays for, and often by, kids.
