Karen Pittman, Daniel Gerroll, Patricia Kalember, and more will star under the direction of Diane Paulus.
ArtsEmerson and the American Repertory Theater announced casting for the world premiere production of The White Card, a new play by Citizen: An American Lyric poet Claudia Rankine, presented by ArtsEmerson and running February 24-April 1 at the Emerson Paramount Center's Robert J. Orchard Stage.
Under the direction of A.R.T. artistic director Diane Paulus, Karen Pittman (Passing Strange), Daniel Gerroll (Shadowlands), Patricia Kalember (Don't Dress for Dinner), Jim Poulos (Rent), and John Kroft (Amazon's Red Oaks) will star. The creative team will include P. Carl (dramaturgy), Riccardo Hernandez (scenic design), E. Sosa (costume design), Stephen Strawbridge (lighting design), Will Pickens (sound design), and Peter Negrini (projection design).
In The White Card, according to a press release, "a conversation at a dinner party thrown by Virginia and Charles, an influential Manhattan couple, for up-and-coming artist Charlotte raises questions about what — and who — is actually on display."
