The new production is inspired by the hit television show.
The stars of Cheers Live on Stage met the press at their rehearsal studio on August 30.
Based on the best and most memorable moments from the Emmy Award-winning sitcom, Cheers Live on Stage will begin performances at Boston's Citi Performing Arts Center Shubert Theatre before continuing on a tour throughout the country. The two-act comedy is written by Erik Forrest Jackson and directed by Matt Lenz.
The show stars Grayson Powell as Sam Malone, Jillian Louis as Diane Chambers, Barry Pearl as Ernie "Coach" Pantusso, Buzz Roddy as Cliff Clavin, Sarah Sirota as Carla Tortelli, and Paul Vogt as Norm Peterson, along with Jeff Applegate, Jen Burleigh-Bentz, Justin R. G. Holcomb, Erin Mosher, Jed Peterson, Andrew Sellon, Richard B. Watson, and Laura Woyasz.
The creative team includes Michael Carnahan (scenic designer), Michael McDonald (costume designer), and Philip S. Rosenberg (lighting designer).
