The Public Forum is a series of conversations and performances with leading voices in politics, media, and the arts.
The Public Theater held its Public Forum Drama Club: An Evening With Cleopatra on November 16. The Public Forum series is directed by Jeremy McCarter.
The event explored various depictions of Egypt's famous queen Cleopatra, from Shaw to Shakespeare to Wilder, with Tony winner Christine Baranski taking on the role of Cleopatra. Bill Irwin, Raúl Esparza, Cush Jumbo, UN Ambassador Samantha Power, Flor De Liz Perez, poet Staceyann Chin, and journalist Rebecca Traister also took part in the program.
The final Public Forum of 2015, on December 7, will be a return engagement of Thornton Wilder's The Long Christmas Dinner, hosted by Wilder's nephew and literary executor, Tappan Wilder.
