A special performance was held on Sixth Avenue to begin the ”Radio City Christmas Spectacular” season.
Radio City Music Hall kicked off the holiday season on August 13 with a special event on Sixth Avenue called Christmas in August.
Christmas in August was held at 11am in front of the venue as Santa Claus and the Rockettes stopped traffic to perform the famed "Parade of the Wooden Soldiers" and "Rag Dolls" scenes in the middle of the street. The iconic number originally debuted in the 1940 Radio City Christmas Spectacular and was reimagined in time for the 2014 production. The event was hosted by John Foxx of the radio station 95.5 PLJ.
Performances of the 2015 Radio City Christmas Spectacular begin November 13 and run through January 3. The annual show has been performed at Radio City Music Hall since 1933. It is presented by MSG Entertainment, the live entertainment arm of the Madison Square Garden Company.
