Roundabout Theatre Company has announced additional casting for The 24 Hour Plays Off-Broadway. Six playwrights, six directors, 24 actors, and a musical guest will perform six new short plays written and rehearsed over the course of one day. The performance will begin at 8pm on Monday, April 9, at the Laura Pels Theatre at the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre. Proceeds from the evening will benefit Roundabout Underground and the New Play Initiative, programs focused on discovering and cultivating emerging playwrights and artists.
Stage and screen stars Genevieve Angelson, Lea DeLaria, Denis O'Hare, Josh Hamilton, Danny Hoch, Cristin Milioti, Andre Royo, and Shaunette Renée Wilson will join the previously announced lineup, including Anna Baryshnikov, Beth Behrs, Reed Birney, Mike Carlsen, Jackie Cruz, André De Shields, Beanie Feldstein, Betty Gilpin, Gideon Glick, Sas Goldberg, Nina Hellman, Richard Kind, Arian Moayed, Jeremy Shamos, Sarah Steele, and Leslie Uggams, with all artists subject to change.
Playwrights — all of whom have debuted or will debut at Roundabout Underground — include musical guest Adam Gwon and friends, and new work by Joshua Harmon, Jiréh Breon Holder, Meghan Kennedy, Alex Lubischer, Ming Peiffer, and Jenny Rachel Weiner. They will be directed by Mark Brokaw, Marc Bruni, Theresa Rebeck, Giovanna Sardelli, Whitney White, and Charles Randolph-Wright.
