The Emmy-winning actress will open the Berkshire theater’s 20th-anniversary season in Sharr White’s mind-bending drama.
Emmy winner and Golden Globe nominee Marg Helgenberger, best known for her role as Catherine Willows on the CBS drama CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, will star in the Berkshire premiere of Sharr White's The Other Place. Directed by Barrington Stage Company Associate Artist Christopher Innvar (The Snow Geese), the production will open BSC's 20th-anniversary season, playing on the St. Germain Stage from May 21-June 14.
Helgenberger takes on the role of Juliana Smithton, a successful neurologist whose husband has filed for divorce and whose daughter has eloped with a much older man while Juliana's health is in jeopardy. Fact begins to blur with fiction until the elusive truth boils to the surface. The play received its world premiere off-Broadway at MCC Theater, later enjoying a 2013 Broadway run at Manhattan Theatre Club under the direction of Joe Mantello, with Laurie Metcalf in the role of Juliana.
Helgenberger is currently featured on the CBS series Intelligence. She earned an Emmy Award for her breakout role as K.C. on the series China Beach, and later starred as Patsy Ramsey in the CBS miniseries Perfect Murder, Perfect Town. She has appeared in a number of feature films including Erin Brockovich, Tootsie, Always, Species, and In Good Company.
