The new drama runs at Playwrights Horizons.
Dan LeFranc's new play, Rancho Viejo, celebrated its opening night at Playwrights Horizons on December 6. Directed by Daniel Aukin, the show runs through December 23.
The company includes Ruth Aguilar, Mark Blum (The Assembled Parties), Bill Buell (Noises Off), Ethan Dubin, Julia Duffy (Once in a Lifetime), Tyrone Mitchell Henderson (Bring in 'Da Noise, Bring in 'Da Funk), Lusia Strus (Elling), Mare Winningham (Casa Valentina), and Mark Zeisler (The Big Knife).
The plot of Rancho Viejo is described as follows: "We never meet young Richie and Lonna, whose marriage is on the rocks. But miles and miles away, in the affluent southwestern suburb where their parents live, this couple's separation is disturbing the tranquility of a community they've barely met."
The production features scenic design by Dane Laffrey, costume design by Jessica Pabst, lighting design by Matt Frey, and sound design by Tony Award winner Leon Rothenberg. Animals are provided by William Berloni Theatrical Animals.
