Broadway’s best came out to support the ”Voices for the Voiceless” event.
Broadway stars came out to the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (home of Broadway's Kinky Boots) last night to sing for the second annual Voices for the Voiceless: Stars for Foster Kids event, presented by Seth Rudetsky and James Wesley. The event serves to raise awareness about the plight of children in foster care — particularly those between the ages of 13 and 21, whom many consider "unadoptable" because of their age.
Performers included Darren Criss (Glee, Hedwig and the Angry Inch), Rosie Perez (Fish in the Dark), Tony nominee Megan Hilty (Noises Off), two-time Tony winner Chita Rivera (The Visit), famed disco singer Gloria Gaynor, Sherri Saum (The Fosters), and Stephanie Mills (original Dorothy in The Wiz).
Additional guests in attendance included Caroline Rhea, Alec Mapa, B.D. Wong, Orfeh, Adrienne Warren, Michelle Collins, Lilla Crawford, Carole Demas, and Dale Moss.
