Outside Mullingar, a new play written by Pulitzer Prize winner John Patrick Shanley (Doubt), opens tonight at Broadway's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre. The romantic dramedy stars Emmy winner Debra Messing (Will & Grace, Smash) and Tony winner Brían F. O'Byrne (Doubt, Frozen) and is directed by Tony winner Doug Hughes (Doubt).

The world premiere play follows Anthony (O'Byrne), a recluse living on a cattle farm in rural Ireland, while his next-door neighbor Rosemary (Messing) longs for him as the years pass them by. In addition to O'Byrne and Hughes, the cast includes Peter Maloney (West Side Story) and Dearbhla Molloy (Dancing at Lughnasa).
