The ”Bad Jews” playwright will write the production, which pays tribute to the Big Apple.
Tony winner Diane Paulus will serve as co-creative director of MSG Entertainment's latest production for the Radio City Rockettes, titled New York Spring Spectacular. The show, which will play Radio City Music Hall from March 12-May 3, is a reimagined edition of Hearts and Lights, the Big Apple-inspired extravaganza that was supposed to open earlier this year but was later postponed.
Bad Jews playwright Joshua Harmon pens the show, which tells the story of Bernie, an old-fashioned New York City tour guide who faces firing when his company is bought by Jenna, a techie planning to turn the organization into a virtual-reality wonderland. When Bernie meets Jack, a young man with a secret, he figures out how to secure his job — by taking Jenna on the tour of a lifetime. It is directed and choreographed by Tony winner Warren Carlyle.
The production features state-of-the-art technology, one-of-a-kind puppetry, and direction and choreography for the Rockettes by Tony winner Warren Carlyle. MSG Entertainment produces with Weinstein Live Entertainment. Paulus' husband, producer Randy Weiner, serves as co-creative directors.
