Fernanda Coppel’s new drama is directed by Lisa Peterson.
Second Stage Theatre has announced full casting for its Uptown world premiere production of Fernanda Coppel's King Liz. Beginning previews July 13 at the McGinn/Cazale Theatre, the work is directed by Lisa Peterson and opens July 27.
King Liz is described as following Liz Rico, a high-powered sports agent in a male-dominated industry, who wants to take over the agency she's helped build. When troubled high school basketball star Freddie Luna enters the picture, Liz is tasked with keeping him in line, a job that might end up making both of their careers. But at what price?
The production will feature recent Disgraced star Karen Pittman (Liz Rico), Jeremie Harris (Freddie Luna), Michael Cullen (Mr. Candy), Russell G. Jones (Coach Jones), Caroline Lagerfelt (Barbara Flowers), and Irene Sofia Lucio (Gabby Fuentes).
King Liz features scenic design by Dane Laffrey, costumes by Jessica Pabst, lighting design by Tyler Micoleau, and sound design by Darron L West.
