A Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey score is headed to the Disney Channel this summer, along with Broadway regular Heidi Blickenstaff.
Freaky Friday is ready to go from stage to screen this summer with the Disney Channel Original Movie version of the classic story's new musical adaptation, featuring a score by Tony winners Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey, and a book by Bridget Carpenter.
The musical ran at Signature Theatre in Arlington, Virginia, and La Jolla Playhouse in San Diego and starred Emma Hunton (Next to Normal) and Heidi Blickenstaff (Something Rotten!), who reprises the role of Katherine for the TV movie. Cozi Zuehlsdorff takes over the role of her daughter, Ellie (Dolphin Tale).
Take a look below at Blickenstaff and Zuehlsdorff as the body-switching mother-daughter team in Disney's first teaser trailer for the brand-new musical movie.
