Michael Urie will once again host the awards show on Sunday, June 2.
The Drama Desk has announced that the nominations for the 64th Annual Drama Desk Awards will be announced live on NY1 on Thursday, April 25, during Live at Noon. NY1 anchor Roma Torre and On Stage host Frank DiLella will announce the nominations, and will be joined by Drama Desk Awards host Michael Urie to discuss the nominees and their achievements at approximately 12:50pm.
As previously announced, the awards will be presented at the Town Hall on Sunday, June 2. Urie will be hosting the ceremony for the fourth time. Matt Britten, Broadway Brands CEO, will serve as executive producer and Joey Parnes Productions will produce the ceremony, as it has since 2012. The show will be written by Bill Rosenfield, returning for his seventh year; directed by Mark Waldrop, marking his fourth year; and music-directed by Dan Lipton, making his fifth appearance.
The Drama Desk Awards, which are presented annually, honor outstanding achievement by professional theater artists on Broadway, off-Broadway and off-off-Broadway. The Drama Desk Awards are the only major theater honors for which productions on Broadway, off-Broadway, and off-off-Broadway compete against each other in the same categories.
