Mark St. Germain’s solo show is set to play the Westside Theatre.
Debra Jo Rupp and Dr. Ruth Westheimer met the press on Monday, September 30, to celebrate the upcoming off-Broadway run of Mark St. Germain's Becoming Dr. Ruth, which will play the Westside Theatre beginning October 11. Rupp stars in the solo show, which follows the life of the pioneering radio and television sex therapist, from her experiences fleeing the Nazis to becoming a sniper in the Haganah to her struggles as a single mother in America. Directed by Julianne Boyd, the solo show comes to New York City following sold-out runs at Barrington Stage Company, where Boyd is artistic director, and Hartford's TheaterWorks.
