Moritz von Stuelpnagel directs the Roundabout Theatre Company production.
Roundabout Theatre Company has announced complete casting for the world premiere of Theresa Rebeck's Bernhardt/Hamlet, directed by Moritz von Stuelpnagel and starring Tony winner Janet McTeer as Sarah Bernhardt. The production will begin preview performances on August 31 and open on September 25 for a limited engagement through November 11 at the American Airlines Theatre.
Joining the previously announced McTeer are Dylan Baker as Constant Coquelin and Jason Butler Harner as Edmond Rostand, with Matthew Saldivar as Alphonse Mucha, Nick Westrate as Maurice, Paxton Whitehead as Louis, Ito Aghayere as Rosamond, Brittany Bradford as Lysette, Aaron Costa Ganis as Raoul, and Triney Sandoval as Francois.
Theresa Rebeck's new Roundabout-commissioned play rollicks with high comedy and human drama set against the lavish
Shakespearean production that could make or break Bernhardt's career.
The creative team includes Beowulf Boritt (set design), Toni-Leslie James (costume design), Bradley King (lighting
design), and Fitz Patton (original music and sound design).
