Broadway veterans head south to perform an Andrew Lloyd Webber favorite.
Eden Espinosa (Wicked, Rent) and Tony winner Anthony Crivello (Kiss of the Spiderwoman) will costar in a new production of Evita at Andrew Jackson Hall at Tennessee Performing Arts Center in Nashville. Performances are set to run from September 9-18. The production is being produced locally in a historic partnership with Nashville-area theater company Studio Tenn, led by Matt Logan and Jake Speck.
Crivello, who made his Broadway debut as Che in the original Broadway production of Evita, will take on Juan Perón in the Studio Tenn production opposite Espinosa (a former Elphaba in Broadway's Wicked) who will star in the title role. The cast will also include Broadway veteran Ben Crawford (Big Fish) as Che, René Millán (The Wild Party) as Magaldi, and Nashville singer Mia Rose Lynne as The Mistress.
Featuring a Tony-winning score by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice and a Tony-winning book by Rice, Evita tells the life story of Eva Perón, who captivated Argentina as the country's First Lady.
Evita is the first production featured on the 2016-17 HCA/TriStar Health Broadway at TPAC season, and is presented locally by Nashville Originals.
