Directed by two-time Tony winner Joe Mantello, the production stars Tony Award nominee Alison Pill, who joins two-time Academy Award-winner Glenda Jackson and three-time Emmy Award winner Laurie Metcalf.
The play opened at the Vineyard Theatre in 1994 and won the Pulitzer Prize as well as the New York Drama Critics Circle, Lucille Lortel, and Outer Critics Circle Awards for Best Play. This production has scenic design by Miriam Buether, costume design by Ann Roth, and lighting design by Brian MacDevitt.
Pill returns to Broadway for the first time since 2011's The House of Blue Leaves. A Tony nominee for The Lieutenant of Inishmore, she has also been seen on television in The Newsroom and American Horror Story: Cult.
Three Tall Women marks Jackson's first Broadway appearance in 30 years, coming on the heels of her 2016 London stage return as the title role in King Lear. An Oscar winner for Women in Love and A Touch of Class, she has appeared on Broadway in Marat/Sade, Rose, Strange Interlude, and Macbeth. She spent 23 years as a member of Parliament in England.
Metcalf is a 2017 Tony winner for Lucas Hnath's A Doll's House, Part 2, and she has also been seen in November, The Other Place, Misery, and the sitcom Roseanne.
