Anna Deavere Smith will host the Tisch gala with special presenters including Peter Krause, Tyne Daly, and Winnie Holzman.
The NYU Tisch School of the Arts annual gala will honor Broadway star Michael C. Hall (Hedwig and the Angry Inch), composer Steven Lutvak (A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder), and writer Robert L. Freedman (A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder), with a special tribute to Mel Silverman, on May 4 at Jazz at Lincoln Center's Frederick P. Rose Hall. The evening will be hosted by Anna Deavere Smith.
The evening will feature special presenters Peter Krause, Tyne Daly, and Winnie Holzman. The gala performance, directed by Bill Castellino, will celebrate the accomplishments of Tisch students, both past and present.
Other artists scheduled to participate in the gala include Broadway veterans Ewan McGregor (The Real Thing), Jefferson Mays (A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder), Lauren Graham (Guys and Dolls), and more.
The annual Tisch School of the Arts gala showcases the arts school’s program offerings, which include acting, dance, cinema studies, design for stage and film, dramatic writing, film and television, game design, interactive telecommunications, moving image archiving and preservation, musical theater writing, performance studies, photography, public policy, and recorded music.
