Production photos of The Last Vig, running at Los Angeles' Zephyr Theatre, have been released. Burt Young, an Oscar-nominated actor of Rocky and Chinatown, stars in this comedy from playwright and director David Varriale. The Last Vig is currently in performance through February 19.
Young stars as an aging mob boss, Big Joe, the last of a dying breed in changing times. With the help of his young, hip-hop-loving assistant, Bocce, and his old friend, Jimmy "The Fixer" D, Big Joe tries to stay in the game and not let the juice on the $100,000 he owes be his "last vig."
Joining Young in the cast is Ben Adams (Peter Pan), Clint Jung (Ray Donovan, Prison Break), Bruce Nozick (Weeds, All the Way), and Gareth Williams (Dawson’s Creek, The Shield).
The production includes set design by Joel Daavid, lighting design by Kelley Finn, sound design by Will Mahood, costume design by Mylette Nora, props design by Phi Tran, and original music composed and recorded by Jeff Babko.
