The 13 children of the company got to trick-or-treat in a fun makeshift haunted house at Lincoln Center Theater.
How does a show with 13 children in it celebrate Halloween on a two-show day? By turning the backstage area into a haunted house, of course. The company of The King and I created a trick-or-treater's worst nightmare throughout Lincoln Center Theater, decorating their dressing room doors and turning the male ensemble room into the scariest venue imaginable.
The festivities kicked off with a potluck dinner between the companies of King and I and their downstairs Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater neighbors in Dada Woof Papa Hot. It also included a dressing room decorating competition judged by Broadway favorites Jessie Muller (Waitress), Courtney Reed (Aladdin), Charl Brown (Ever After), and David Elder (Trip of Love). King and I adults Edward Baker-Duly and Murphy Guyer came in first place, with leading man Hoon Lee in second, and child guardians Lauren Hirsh, Jean Marie Hufford, and Rachel Maier in third. The ensemble members' haunted house won the "Most Creative" prize.
