Brandon Victor Dixon, Barbara Walsh, and more will perform songs from the musical partnership.
The Voice finalist and American Idiot alum Tony Vincent has joined the cast of The Songs of Tor & Lisa, coming to Feinstein's/54 Below on February 8. The show will also include performances by Brandon Victor Dixon (Motown), John Cariani (Something Rotten), Josh Grisetti (It Shoulda Been You), Barbara Walsh (Company), Leenya Rideout (Warhorse), Drew Gehling (Waitress), Lisa Rothauser (The Producers), and Tor Hyams (Composer).
The showcase will feature selections written by Grammy-nominated songwriter Tor Hyams and Broadway veteran Lisa Rothauser. The one-night-only event will showcase music from four of their original musicals currently in development — Stealing Time, Auburn, LIFE. WTF?, and The Complete Manual of Things That Might Kill You — as well as other original songs.
The story behind the songwriting partners' collaboration is described as follows: "Tor has a mid-life crisis, quits the record business, gets a divorce, leaves LA for NYC, and devotes the rest of his life to writing musical theater. Lisa discovers her husband is cheating, has a mid-life crisis, gets a divorce, leaves Greenwich for NYC, meets Tor at a bar one night four years ago and the rest is history. Who knew?"
