Tom Story, Jamie Smithson, and Evan Casey star in David Javerbaum’s comedy, directed by Eleanor Holdridge.
Signature Theatre's Washington, D.C., premiere of An Act of God began performances yesterday for a run through November 26. Eleanor Holdridge directs the comedy from Emmy Award winner David Javerbaum.
The production stars Tom Story as God, Evan Casey as Michael, and Jamie Smithson as Gabriel.
Based on Javerbaum's book The Last Testament: A Memoir by God and the popular Twitter account @TheTweetofGod, An Act of God centers around the Supreme Being and his ever-faithful archangels, Michael and Gabriel. In this one-act comedy, God gives his mortals an entirely new set of Ten Commandments.
The creative team includes set design by Daniel Conway, costume design by Robert Croghan, lighting design by Alberto Segarra, and sound design by Ryan Hickey.
