Stephen Sondheim (music and lyrics) and James Lapine's (book) musical includes memorable songs like "Children Will Listen" and "No One Is Alone." The show is described as follows: "Mind the wolf, heed the witch and honor the giant in the sky in this extraordinary musical about the power of wishes and what really happens after they come true. The award-winning musical has been mounted with boundless imagination: a witty and wild theatrical reinvention of a beloved modern classic." Noah Brody and Ben Steinfeld direct.
Into the Woods' ensemble features Anthony Chatmon II (Lucinda, Wolf, Cinderella’s Prince), Eleasha Gamble (Baker’s Wife), Evan Harrington (Baker), Lisa Helmi Johanson (Little Red Ridinghood, Rapunzel), Bonne Kramer (Cinderella’s Stepmother, Jack’s Mother), Patrick Mulryan (Jack, Steward), Darick Pead (Milky White, Florinda, Rapunzel’s Prince), Fred Rose (Mysterious Man), Stephanie Umoh (Witch), and Laurie Veldheer (Cinderella, Granny). Joshua Archer, Sean Peter Forte, Javier Ignacio, Kate Moore and Alanna Saunders complete the ensemble.
The creative team includes Frank Galgano and Matt Castle (orchestrations), Lisa Shriver (choreography), Derek McLane (scenic design), Whitney Locher (costume design), Christopher Akerlind (lighting design), and Darron L. West and Charles Coes (sound design). Evan Rees is the music director, and Matt Castle is the music supervisor.
