Fugard directs Leon Addison Brown, Sahr Ngaujah, and more in the production.
Production photos for Signature Theatre's production of "Master Harold"…and the Boys have been released. Written and directed by Tony Award winner Athol Fugard, the currently running production will play through November 27, with a November 7 opening night.
The show's cast includes Leon Addison Brown (Signature's The Painted Rocks at Revolver Creek) as Sam, Tony nominee Sahr Ngaujah (Fela!) as Willie, and Noah Robbins (Grease Live!) as Hally.
The design team features Christopher H. Barreca (scenic design), Susan Hilferty (costume design), Stephen Strawbridge (lighting design), John Gromada (sound design), and Barbara Rubin (dialect coach).
The play is set in a small tea shop in South Africa in 1950, where two black men and a young white boy joke and dance together, defying the brutalities of apartheid through their joyous love. But festering issues of family, race, and power are not so easy to ignore, and a single phone call can trigger catastrophe.
