The world-premiere musical at La Jolla Playhouse is written by composers Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez.
Up Here, a new musical by the award-winning songwriting duo Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez (Frozen) is now in performances at San Diego's La Jolla Playhouse.
Directed by Tony nominee Alex Timbers, the story follows Dan (Matt Bittner), a 30something repair man and consummate introvert, who meets an outgoing T-shirt designer named Lindsay (Betsy Wolfe) and finally finds chemistry for a potential relationship. However, his efforts at a relationship are thwarted by the Technicolor world in his head. The panoply of neurotic, judgmental, and capricious characters presiding over his inner world are brought to life as Dan struggles to find his place in the universe, and, ultimately, happiness.
