Lisa D’Amour’s drama premieres in Chicago before opening on Broadway.
The first photos of the Steppenwolf Theatre Company production of Lisa D'Amour's Airline Highway have been released. The drama, directed by Joe Mantello, runs through February 8, before opening on Broadway at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre on April 23.
The company comprises Robert Breuler, Kate Buddeke, K. Todd Freeman, Carolyn Braver, Chris Daley, Stephen Louis Grush, Terry Hamilton, Scott Jaeck, Toni Martin, Caroline Neff, Tim Edward Rhoze, Judith Roberts, Brenann Stacker, Gordon Joseph Weiss, and Jacqueline Williams.
Airline Highway follows a ragtag group of strippers, hustlers, and philosophers who have gathered at a once-glamorous New Orleans motel to celebrate the life of Miss Ruby, an iconic burlesque performer who has requested a pre-mortem funeral. The show is described as an "ode to the outcasts that make life a little more interesting."
