Five-Time Tony Winner Audra McDonald Will Present Master Class Costar and Four-Time Tony Winner Zoe Caldwell With Lifetime Achievement Award

The honor will be bestowed at The League of Professional Theatre Women’s annual gala on March 10.

The League of Professional Theatre Women will honor theater makers Zoe Caldwell, Judith Dolan, Joanna Sherman, Sondra Gorney, Meiyin Wang, and Katherine Kovner at their annual 2014 Awards Celebration and Big Mingle Reception, to be held March 10 at the Pershing Square Signature Center. Tony winner Tamara Tunie will host the ceremony.

Four-time Tony winner Caldwell will be presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award by Audra McDonald, who won her second Tony opposite Caldwell in Broadway's Master Class.

Additionally, Tony-winning costume designer Dolan will be presented with the Ruth Morley Design Award by Gregory Boyd. Gorney will receive a special honor from Mary Miko for her dedication to the values and mission of the League. Kovner, the artistic director of The Playwrights Realm, is set to receive an award from the Lucille Lortel estate for showing creative promise in the theater.

The Lee Reynolds Award for illuminating social, cultural, or political change through theater will be presented to Sherman, artistic director of Bond Street Theatre, by Cynthia P. Schneider. Wang, the codirector of the Public Theater's Under the Radar Festival, will receive the Abady Award for works of cultural diversity from Susan Feldman.

Additionally, director and dramaturg Patricia Ariza of Colombia will receive the Gilder/Coigney International Theatre Award at a ceremony on October 27 at the Martin E. Segal Theatre Center/CUNY.

The League of Professional Theatre Women is a not-for-profit organization committed to promoting visibility and increasing opportunities for women in the professional theater.
