Flashback Friday: Before Swimming With Big Fish, Norbert Leo Butz was the Hottest Emcee Ever

On the heels of the recent casting addition of Danny Burstein and Linda Emond in the Alan Cumming-led remounting of the Tony-winning revival of Cabaret at Studio 54, and with the opening of Big Fish a few days past, TheaterMania decided to flashback to a time when Norbert Leo Butz was engaging in illicit activities at the Kit Kat Klub. Butz headlined the national tour of Cabaret in 1999 as the Emcee opposite future Desperate Housewives star Teri Hatcher as Sally Bowles. Watch two-time Tony winner Butz embrace his campier side and entrance audiences with his delightful rendition of the opener “Willkommen.”
