Chita Rivera celebrated her final Broadway opening last night at the Lyceum Theatre where she currently stars in Kander and Ebb's The Visit. Her Broadway résumé spans approximately six decades, 17 productions, and nine Tony nominations (with two wins). When she visited The Judy Garland Show back in 1963, she had already starred in the classic musicals West Side Story and Bye Bye Birdie — two productions that featured her famed dance moves. In The Visit she isn't high-kicking around the Lyceum stage like this, but in honor of her legendary career, TheaterMania decided to flash back to Chita's earliest days as a bona fide Broadway hoofer.
