Before Bronx Bombers portrayed the heroism of the Yankee greats, Damn Yankees showed the beloved New York team in a rather different light. In the classic musical, the Yankees are a team so despicable that Shoeless Joe From Hannibal, Mo. is willing to sell his soul just to break the team's winning streak.
