Twenty years ago today, Jonathan Larson's landmark musical Rent officially opened at Broadway's Nederlander Theatre. The rock opera would go on to play more than 5,000 performances over the course of its 12-year run, and launch the careers of Broadway favorites like Idina Menzel, Anthony Rapp, Daphne Rubin-Vega, and Adam Pascal.
