Independence Day is upon us again, and for all of us at TheaterMania, that means digging through the archives of our favorite Broadway-star renditions of the National Anthem. Our pick for 2017 is from the year 2000, a simpler time when Audra McDonald had won only three Tony Awards (she's since doubled that number to a record-breaking six).

Take a look as McDonald sopranos the heck out of "The Star-Spangled Banner" at the annual Capitol Fourth concert, and be sure to tune in to the PBS showcase on Tuesday evening to see Bandstand's Laura Osnes serve as this year's Broadway representative.
