The ”Carousel” star headed the cast of the second-to-last Kander and Ebb musical in 2010.

In 2010, the second-to-last musical from longtime collaborators John Kander and Fred Ebb opened on Broadway. After an acclaimed off-Broadway run at Vineyard Theatre, The Scottsboro Boys, with a book by David Thompson and direction by Susan Stroman, opened at the Lyceum Theatre. Though it played a brief run, it netted a whopping 12 Tony nominations and made a star out of Broadway leading man Joshua Henry.

With Henry starring in Carousel, and Stroman, Kander, and Thompson returning to the Vineyard Theatre (where The Scottsboro Boys originated) for the upcoming The Beast in the Jungle, we thought it was time to look back on their important Broadway collaboration, which closed too soon.
