Full casting has been announced for the New Group's world-premiere production of The Spoils, a new play written by and starring Academy Award nominee Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network).
In The Spoils, Ben's been kicked out of grad school, is living off his parents’ money, and bullies everyone in his life, including his roommate Kalyan, an earnest Nepalese immigrant. The play is described as "a deeply personal and probing comedy."
Joining Eisenberg are the previously announced Kunal Nayyar (The Big Bang Theory), along with Erin Darke (The Wayside Motor Inn), Annapurna Sriram (The Happiest Song Plays Last), and Michael Zegen (Bad Jews). This production includes set design by Derek McLane, costume design by Susan Hilferty, lighting design by Peter Kaczorowski, sound design by Rob Milburn & Michael Bodeen, and projection design by Olivia Sebesky.
Directed by Scott Elliott, previews are set to begin May 5 in advance of an opening night on June 2. The limited off-Broadway engagement is slated through June 28 at the Pershing Square Signature Center.
