MCC Announces Miscast Album Featuring Gavin Creel, Jonathan Groff, and More

The album features 12 songs from the last 25 years of Miscast, MCC’s annual concert.

MCC Theater’s Miscast: The Studio Sessions, featuring 12 songs from the last 25 years of Miscast, newly recorded, will be available to stream on Friday, March 28. The album is produced by Will Van Dyke, Patrick Sulken, and Derik Lee for Joy Machine Records. Click here to pre-save the album.

Miscast is MCC Theater’s annual one-night-only concert featuring Broadway stars performing songs from roles in which they would not traditionally be cast.

MCC Theater has released one of the songs on the album, “Go the Distance,” performed by Eva Noblezada, originally performed at the 2019 Miscast Gala. Click here to listen.

The other songs on the album are “Let Me Be Your Star” performed by Jonathan Groff and Jeremy Jordan, “The Wizard and I” performed by Ben Platt, “If I Were a Rich Man” performed by Katrina Lenk, “The Human Heart” performed by Leslie Odom, Jr. and Nicolette Robinson, “What is It About Her?” performed by Stephanie J. Block, “Who I’d Be” performed by Rachel Zegler, “Edelweiss” performed by Lea Salonga, “Come to Your Senses” performed by Raúl Esparza, “Beautiful City” performed by Kelli O’Hara, “Endless Night” performed by Heather Headley, and “Take Me or Leave Me” (live) performed by Aaron Tveit and Gavin Creel.

Miscast will celebrate its 25th anniversary on Monday, April 7, at the Hammerstein Ballroom, honoring Emmy, Critics Choice, and Independent Spirit Award winner Sheryl Lee Ralph and MCC Youth Company alum and artist Travis Raeburn. The Miscast25 lineup will include Tituss Burgess, Cole Escola, Jordan Fisher, Steven Pasquale, Nicole Scherzinger, Britton Smith, Phillipa Soo, Ephraim Sykes, Aaron Tveit, Jordan Tyson, and Michael Urie, with more performers to be announced. Will Van Dyke will serve as musical director.

Miscast25 will also stream digitally worldwide for free this year, beginning on April 21. More details will be announced at a later date.
