The Broadway revival of
Annie welcomed Emmy Award winner Jane Lynch to the company with an “opening night” celebration at Ruby Foo’s following the Thursday, May 16 performance. Lynch, best known for her work as Sue Sylvester on the Fox series
Glee as well as the many mockumentary films of Christopher Guest, joined the production at the
Palace Theatre as Miss Hannigan on May 14.
Directed by Pulitzer Prize winner James Lapine, Annie features a score by Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin, and a book by Thomas Meehan. Leading the company of the revival are Lilla Crawford in the title role and Australian musical theater star Anthony Warlow, who received a 2013 Drama Desk Award nomination for his performance, as Oliver Warbucks.
Guests at Lynch’s opening night party included What Not to Wear personality Stacy London, as well as a host of her Glee family members, including Darren Criss, Chris Colfer, Kevin McHale, Jenna Ushkowitz, Alex Newell, and Ashley Fink.
