The ”LM/DC” tour will open in Nashville, Tennessee, this May.
Broadway and Glee veterans Lea Michele and Darren Criss announced today they they will embark on their first ever coheadlining tour LM/DC. The pair plans to perform songs from Broadway, Glee, and original songs from their recent solo albums. The tour will kick off on May 30 at the Ryman Auditorium stage in Nashville, Tennessee.
Criss joined the cast of Glee in its second season as Blaine Anderson, the lead singer of the Dalton Academy Warblers. He made his Broadway debut in 2012, replacing Daniel Radcliffe as J. Pierrepont Finch in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, and returned to Broadway in 2015 to take on the title role in Hedwig and the Angry Inch.
Michele has been seen on Broadway in Les Misérables, Ragtime, Fiddler on the Roof, and Spring Awakening, in which she originated the role of Wendla. She received an Emmy nomination, two Golden Globe nominations, and three Grammy nominations for her work as Rachel Berry throughout all six seasons of Glee. She went on to star as Hester Ulrich on the Fox series Scream Queens and as Valentina Barella on the ABC sitcom The Mayor, and has released two studio albums: Louder (2014) and Places (2017).
"We've always had so much fun performing together for one-off gigs, so it's high time we took that show on the road," Michele and Criss said in a joint statement. "We share so much musical history together between Glee, Broadway, and our own solo projects, so it will be fun to put it all together for our fans in one big show."
