The world premiere of Halley Feiffer's I'm Gonna Pray for You So Hard, opens tonight at the Atlantic Theater Company's Stage 2.
Betty Gilpin (Nurse Jackie) and Tony nominee Reed Birney (Casa Valentina) star in the new comedy as Ella, a precocious and fiercely competitive actress, and her father, David, a famous playwright whom she desperately wants to please. Over the course of a boozy, drug-fueled evening, Ella and David deliberate over whether to read the reviews of her off-Broadway debut — a choice that sends them into a downward spiral. Directed by Trip Cullman, performances will run through February 15.
