The Public Theater has announced the lineup for its 2017 gala, Hair to Hamilton, 50 Years of Revolutionary Musicals. The event will take place on Monday, June 5, at the Delacorte Theater, with Daniel Sullivan directing and Rob Fisher serving as musical director.
The evening will feature performances by Brian d’Arcy James, Christopher Jackson, Phillipa Soo, Nikki M. James, Sasha Allen, Sydney Lucas, Kevin Mambo, Britton Smith, Mary Testa, Akron Watson, and Juson Williams, with songs from Public Theater productions including Hamilton, Hair, A Chorus Line, Fun Home, Runaways, The Pirates of Penzance, and more.
Julia Pershan and Julio Peterson serve as gala cochairs for the one-night-only special event that will celebrate the late LuEsther T. Mertz for her invaluable contribution to the past, present, and future of the Public Theater.
