Hamilton's Anthony Ramos Lands Role in New Spike Lee Netflix Series

Anthony Ramos, who originated the roles of John Laurens and Philip Hamilton Lin-Manuel Miranda's Hamilton, will take on a leading role in the upcoming Netflix series She's Gotta Have It.

Created by Spike Lee, the 10-episode series is an update of Lee's 1986 film. Ramos will take on the role of Mars, a character played on-screen by Lee himself. The series follows a Brooklyn-based artist who is trying to define herself while still making time for her friends and family.

Ramos, a member of Hamilton's original Broadway and off-Broadway companies, is still performing in the production.
