Michael C. Hall has found his first project once his run on Broadway in Hedwig and the Angry Inch ends: a role in the Disney remake of the classic 1977 film Pete's Dragon.

There is no word on whom Hall will play in the movie, but he'll star opposite Robert Redford, Bryce Dallas Howard, Wes Bentley, and Oakes Fegley, who takes on the role of Pete. David Lowery directs the film, which features a script by Toby Halbrooks.

The original 1977 Pete's Dragon film blended live action and animation to tell the story of a young orphan boy named Pete and his relationship with a friendly dragon called Elliott. It featured songs by Joel Hirschhorn and Al Kasha, though it is expected that this new film will not be a musical.

Hall departs the Broadway production of Hedwig at the Belasco Theatre on January 18 and will be succeeded by the show's cocreator, John Cameron Mitchell.
