New York City
The Deafening and Reserved for Rondee headlined a night of rock and roll, Broadway-style.
Monday nights are usually Broadway actors' nights off, but not on July 28. A rock-and-roll extravaganza was had at the newly renamed 42West, formerly XL Nightclub. Broadway the Hardway hosted a night of sexy, sweaty, loud, face-melting rock that would make most traditional theatergoers reexamine their life choices. Headlining the evening was The Deafening, fronted by Hedwig and the Angry Inch Tony winner Lena Hall. Hall brought many guests to her set including Tony Vincent, Courtney Act, and Constantine Maroulis. Vanya and Sonia Tony nominee and current star of Second Stage's Sex With Strangers Billy Magnussen was featured on guitar with his band, Reserved for Rondee. Rock of Ages Tony nominee and American Idol favorite Maroulis sang with a Led Zeppelin cover band put together by Reserved for Rondee lead guitarist Nick Fokas. Many other acts got the party going right, including Rock-N-Roll Debauchery, Lance Horne, and DJs "AndrewAndrew." Check out all the fun in the gallery below.
