Shakespeare’s classic starts tonight.
William Shakespeare's Henry V begins performances tonight at Shakespeare & Company. Ryan Winkles stars in the title role under the direction of Jenna Ware.
Set during the Hundred Years’ War, the play follows Henry from his time as a disaffected prince to a legendary king. In a pivotal military conflict against the French, Henry rises to the challenge at the battle of Agincourt. But his greatest battles may not be on the field as he tries to repair his broken nation, prove his worth, and win over the French Princess.
In addition to Winkles, the play features Caroline Calkins (Bishop of Ely, Boy, Katherine), Jonathan Croy (Chorus, Westmoreland, Pistol, French King, Soldier), Kelly Galvin (Chorus, Monk, Scroop, Constable, Governor, Soldier, Burgoine), Jennie Jadow (Chorus, Grey, Bardolf, Orleans, Alice, Erpingham, Soldier), Tom Jaegar (Chorus, Exeter, Fluellen, Soldier), David Joseph (Bishop of Canterbury, Nym, York, Dauphin), and Sarah Taylor (Chorus, Monk, Mountjoy, Hostesse, Cambridge, Gower, Soldier).
