Broadway veterans Will Blum, Andrew Kober, Janine DiVita, and more to star.
Bucks County Playhouse will open its 2015 season with National Pastime, a new musical directed by Broadway favorite and BCP Artistic Associate Hunter Foster. The comedy is set to run from April 2-19. BCP Artistic Associate Lorin Latarro choreographs.
The production's cast will feature Broadway veterans Will Blum (The Book of Mormon), Janine DiVita (Anything Goes), Stephanie Gibson (Cinderella), Andrew Kober (Hair) , Michael Dean Morgan (the upcoming Amazing Grace), and Spencer Plachy (Broadway's Romeo and Juliet) as well as Matthew Bauman, Meredith Beck, Danielle Mia Diniz, Abe Goldfarb, Kelli McGuire, and Alexandria Van Paris.
With music and lyrics by Albert M. Tapper and book by Tony Sportiello, National Pastime follows the antics of Barry, the owner of the local radio station WZBQ in 1933 in a small Iowa town, as he tries to save the station from going under.
Hunter Foster has directed BCP's productions of Summer of '42, The Rocky Horror Show, and Ain't Misbehavin'.
