The new musical is written by Jason Robert Brown and Marsha Norman.
Tony Award nominee Hunter Foster, last seen on Broadway in Hands on a Hardbody, will join Kelli O’Hara and Steven Pasquale in Jason Robert Brown and Marsha Norman’s The Bridges of Madison County, producers have announced.
Foster, whose credits also include Urinetown, The Producers, and Million Dollar Quartet, is set to take on the role of Bud Johnson, the farmer husband of O’Hara’s Francesca. Additional casting for the production will be announced in the coming weeks.
With a score by Brown and a book by Norman, the new musical is based on the bestselling novel by Robert James Waller. Previews begin January 17 at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre, with an opening set for February 20.
