Indecent announced a special performance of Paula Vogel's play at the Cort Theatre on Sunday, July 30, at 8pm. The Wednesday, July 26, evening performance has been canceled in order to accommodate this additional show. The added performance offers working members of the New York theater community an opportunity to see the production for themselves.

Though Indecent was originally scheduled to close on June 25, thanks to a surge of support from the theater community and beyond, the show was extended for a few more weeks and will now end its Broadway run on August 6.

This play with music was inspired by the controversial Broadway debut of Sholem Asch's play God of Vengeance. Some saw Asch's play as a seminal work of Jewish culture, while others saw it as an act of traitorous libel.

Indecent transferred to Broadway after a production at the Vineyard Theatre that ran off-Broadway in 2016 in association with La Jolla Playhouse and Yale Repertory Theatre. The current production, which received a 2017 Tony nomination for Best Play, marks the Broadway debuts of Vogel and Rebecca Taichman. Taichman won Tony, Outer Critics Circle, and Obie Awards for her direction, while Christopher Akerlind won a Tony for his lighting design, and David Dorfman won a Lortel Award for his choreography. Vogel was honored by the New York Drama Critics Circle and received a Lifetime Achievement Obie.
