As Ingrid Michaelson steps into the role of Sonya in Broadway's Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812 (her first performance was July 3), she also stepped into original Sonya Brittain Ashford's apartment for an afternoon duet. Ashford recently released a video on her YouTube channel featuring the two songstresses blending their voices on their shared character's signature song "Sonya Alone," a touching tribute to friendship.

Inspired by a small section of Leo Tolstoy's War and Peace, The Great Comet was created by Dave Malloy and is directed by Rachel Chavkin. The Broadway mounting opened November 14, 2016, at the Imperial Theatre.
